HORTICULTURE INSTRUCTIONS
It is your responsibility to be at school everyday on time!!!!! If you are not going to be at school or
are going to be late, call me on my cell phone at 431 5712.
Do not leave the room without telling me where you are going.
Outdoor Instructions:
1. Each day you will work in your outside project from 9:00 until 9:45. (weather permitting!)
2. Please wear appropriate clothing for this job. that includes closed toed shoes, no heels, clothes you dont mind getting dirty and are comfortable kneeling and bending in. If you are easily sunburned, please take precautions such as using at least 45 sunscreen, wearing
protective clothing, sunglasses and etc.
3. Bring a water bottle to class; we will put them in the cooler so that they are cold
4. Be sure to clean and put away any tools you may use.
5. Do not leave tools lying around outside, they will rust and be taken.
6. Use tools for the purpose they are made.
7. Be sure to wear gloves so that your hands will be protected.
8. Wash your hands after working outside and use lotion so that your hands do not dry out.
9. Please check with your doctor to make sure your tetanus shots are up to date.
Classroom instructions:
1. You will keep a journal. This journal will be used to make observations in the garden and take any lecture or speaker notes.
2. Your written work will be done in Word or the appropriate Microsoft program and will using Google Docs you will share it with me at
[email protected]. If you do not have a gmail account(not the one for school), please set up one. It is free.
3. Each day, before you leave, please clean the area you are using. That includes not only putting away your journal and notebook, but also putting away any items you may be working with and stacking your chair.
4. Please do not remove the textbooks from the classroom. If you need the book, talk to me about it.
We are all in this together. This is a team effort.
